During the school holidays, Hotel Santika Premiere Jogja offered special entertainment programs to improve the experience of our guests. Under the theme of “Toegie Koeliner Koe 2”, Hotel Santika built on the success of the first event and held a successful follow-up event. The event was a quite a different concept to the previous program where it was fully supported by local Jogjakartan artists. “Toegoe Koeliner Koe 2” was held on 8 July 2012 from 7am to 10pm.
The event featured unique traditional Jogjakartan entertainments and the local artists, namely Gejok Lesung music, Kobate (Gamelan performed by young children), Tekbung (clapping and slapping of potteries), Angklung Malioboro, and Jogja’s acoustic band. The event was hosted by the hilarious duo of Master of Ceremonies, namely Alya and Noel.
Another highlight of the event was the nine famous and iconic food of Jogja exhibited at the event. The original vendors of these foods were featured in “Toegoe Koeliner 2”, among others were Jejamuran, Fried eel, Cak Koting, Bu Wiryo’s Sego Pecel, Mbok Tumpuk’s Rempeyek; Tongseng Emprit, Dapur Desa’s Sego Abang Lombok Ijo, Porridge a la Santika, and Tengkleng a la Santika. The food added to the flavor and the feel of the city of Jogja created by the event organiser.
