Learning batik is a lot of fun. If you are interested to learn, various workshops that offer short batik classes are easily available.
One of the places that offer a batik class is Batik Sekar Kedhaton in Giriloyo, Imogiri (Bantul). At Batik Sekar Kedahton, you will be taught only by the experienced instructors on the techniques of making batik and practice the making of batik. You can participate in the class by yourself, with your friends, or go in a group.
