Wijilan Village is located on Wijilan Street, south of Plengkung Tarunasura - better known as “Plengkung Wijilan” - and east of Jogja’s City Square. The premise is located not far from the city’s most famous landmarks, the Palace - Kraton Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat - and Malioboro Street.
Although gudeg, a famous local delicacy of Jogja, can be found in almost every corner of the city, the most popular place to enjoy a plate of gudeg is the Wijilan Village wherein there lies various gudeg stalls. Crowds of people flock the Village every day, particularly during the holiday’s season. The curry of jackfruit, chicken and egg served with rice, is distinctively sweet in flavor with a touch of savory flavor. This local food is always sought after by both domestic and international tourists. The price of a basic plate of gudeg starts at IDR 7000. There are various side dishes that you can order to eat with your gudeg to satisfy your taste buds.
